So, the guy at a un-disclosed electronics superstore suggested to me that if I uninstalled some of the unnecessary files from Windows, my computer would run a lot faster and would play DVDs without jumping and skipping....so I did this careful to only choose things I knew I would not need, not realizing that I deleted a bunch of things I actually wanted to keep along with them (i.e. games, volume control etc.) My computer's been yelling at me for a little over a month now saying "you idiot, you can get all that crap back...all you have to do is put the windows disc in" (ok, so not in so many words...) ;)
But I finally took the time to reinstall everything and I have my games back! YAY! Just one more reason I didnt need to procrastinate on homework *whoops*
On a related note, now that I have control of my volume adjustment again, my mini speakers have died *sniffle* Well, not dead per se, but one has a MAJOR short in the cord and the other (the one with the amplifier has a crackling sound in it now) So, I had to go back to the speakers that came with my old HP and attach to the monitor (or did until I broke the tabs) which don't have their own amp., and now I have no volume whatsoever! *sigh*
